Bryan took an early interest in all things concerning Dj-ing. At the age of ten, he was listening to famous canadian Dj's like Chris Sheppard and MC Mario. At the age of 15 I decided what the hell, my music collection is decent (I had no clue how shitty it was), why not go for it?" Bryan spent the next year or so picking up the basics of being a DJ alongside his best friend DJ Steele. Under the mentorship of Paul Spencer (with the then fledgeling Split Circuit Sound/Westrax) the two stepped into the wonderful world of the mobile Disc Jockey.

"I did my first wedding with SCS when I was sixteen," he recalls. "I kinda miss it, we ate roast beef dinners every saturday!" But the mature scene of coporate parties, weddings and grads wasn't enough to keep Bryan's interest. He got involved with Qwest Promotions and the Alliance Soundcrew, organisations dedicated to bringing the nightclub atmosphere to teens, and high school kids not old enough to get into Calgary Nightclubs. Under the guidance of Floyd Phillips and DJ Kav, DJ Q-Ball was finally born into the club scene. "Working with Qwest allowed me to build a network of people that I was able to tap into once I turned 18". By the age of 20, DJ Q-Ball had been the opening act for artists like Sean Desman, Baby Blue Soundcrew, Swollen Members and more.

In 2002 (age 21), Q-Ball was recruited by the famous Penny Lane Entertainment Group. Coyotes Bar and Dance Salloon became the home of Calgary's most dynamic duo of DJ's; DJ Carlito and DJ Q-Ball. Hundreds of peoples flocked to the bar every weekend to enjoy not only the beautiful women that PLE is infamous for, but the hairy anticks of these two crazy DJs.

"Working at Coyotes was a dream come true," says Bryan. "I would go back there in a second if I knew it would be the same. Coyotes offered Q-Ball an even greater spotlight as the opening act for Shaggy, Foxy Brown, Bif Naked, and Swollen Members (again)!! "I remeber sharing some Jagger-bombs with Pervail (Swollen Members), it was surreal."

2004 saw the birth of My Apartment nightclub - a lifelong dream of three friends, Bryan included. With a very small investement, Bryan left Penny Lane and tried running a club on his own terms. Like most small nightclubs, the business started out strong, but didn't last very long. After thier first 14 months of business, numbers started to drop, and Q-Ball decided to head back to school for a formal education.
